Bayero University, Kano (BUK) marked a historic milestone on Saturday, February 15, 2025, as it conferred honorary Doctorate Degrees (Honoris Causa) on two distinguished Nigerians—Colonel Sani Bello, former Kano State Military Administrator, and Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, CEO of A.A Rano Group of Companies. The prestigious recognition was in appreciation of their exceptional contributions to education and socio-economic development in Kano State and Nigeria at large.

In a thought-provoking address at Bayero University’s  39th Convocation Lecture, the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria’s National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Khalil  Suleiman Halilu on Friday, 14th February, 2025 delivered a strong message on the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in shaping Nigeria’s future.

Bayero University, Kano BUK has once again positioned itself as a beacon of innovation and technological advancement with the launch of the Sustainable and Emerging Technology Development Institute (SETDI)—a groundbreaking initiative set to empower young Nigerians with future-ready skills.

Bayero University, Kano  celebrated academic excellence at its 39th Convocation Ceremony, with Kudirat Oyiza Abdulkarim emerging as the Overall Best Graduating Student. A shining star from the Faculty of Agriculture, Kudirat achieved an outstanding CGPA of 4.92, a feat she attributes to unwavering commitment, sacrifice, and determination.
