As part of his promises to enhance and improve the welfare of students in the University, Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas on Thursday, 13th January, 2022 launched a modern skills acquisition centre at the Students Affairs Deanery with the aim of training students to learn tailoring and make-up in order to become self-reliant after graduation.

The Bayero University’s 55th Congregation Meeting held on Thursday, 30th December, 2021 expressed commendation to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas on taking pro-active security measures across the campuses of the University. The Congregation noted that the steps taken would strengthen the security situation.
The Congregation, however, reiterated the need for deployment of technology in securing the University environment.

The Management of Bayero University, Kano has condoled the family of the late Sarkin Bai, Alhaji Mukhtar Adnan. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, who led the Principal Officers and other senior members of the University to Dambatta, the home town of the deceased, today, Monday, 6th December, 2021 described the late Sarkin Bai as a humble, pious, exemplary and paramount traditional ruler whose contributions to the development of Dambatta, Kano and Nigeria would forever be cherished. He prayed to Allah to grant him mercy and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, has unveiled that preparation has reached an advanced stage for the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies, Mambayya House to commence a short certificate training programme on leadership and democratic governance.
